About the West Lodge Parents' Association (WLPA)

Each year the West Lodge Parents' Association warmly welcomes all children and parents who join the school.  The WLPA recognises that as a non-profit making charitable trust, the school fees only cover costs with any profit being channelled directly back into the school. In order to provide those extra items, which help to make West Lodge the wonderful school that it is, the WLPA organises fund-raising events throughout the year. The money raised by parents makes a most valuable and much appreciated contribution to school life.

However, being a member or serving on the Committee of the WLPA is certainly not all about work - social occasions are organised for parents and pupils as well as traditional events such as the Christmas Bazaar, Summer Fair, cake sales etc. which are greatly enjoyed by the members of the school and their relatives and friends.

All parents become members of the WLPA as soon as their child joins the school. 

The Committee comprises a Chair, Joint Chair, Vice Chair, Secretary and Treasurer with as many additional Committee members as are willing to volunteer. The amount of time parents are able to devote to the WLPA can be as little or as much as they wish, any help will always be greatly appreciated and there are many small ways in which to assist, perhaps by making the occasional telephone call, all of which will help to spread the load.

Although members may not wish to serve in an official capacity, suggestions, comments and new ideas are always welcome. A small number of meetings are held throughout the year to which all members are cordially invited to attend. Information about the WLPA can be found on the School Noticeboard to the right of the side-entrance gate. A Contact Box is provided in the School Office for written correspondence and notes and the Committee Members are pleased to speak with parents directly to provide more information about the WLPA and of forthcoming events.
